<p>I must be missing the problem here; I cannot see anything wrong with making up fake events, fake people, and fake quotes on an essay for the SAT. The Collegeboard clearly states that the factuality of an essay does not effect its score.</p>

<p>If there was anything that would be considered academic dishonesty, it would be people who stack extracurricular activities on their apps and write rubbish about how much they care about things that they almost never do. Perhaps you should go regulate that instead, except for the fact that almost everyone does it.</p>
