This being CC, I assume there are at least a few kids on here who tutor.

I've been assigned to tutor a kid in my grade, and am not really sure how to go about it.

I know the material well enough, but don't have a great deal of confidence in my ability to impart it.

Any tips?

I don’t personally tutor a kid in my grade (I teach a kid a year younger) but I know a couple people who do.

I’m sure you’ve helped friends or just random people in classes who ask you. It’s the same thing, just with more commitment. Be straight-forward, dissembling, and humorous.

Even if you’re confident in the material, reviewing can make you more able to help. It’s like an extra boost.
