Hi. Anyone know if there is a tutoring agency or something on campus (or nearby) that hires students? I'm interested in making a couple of bucks, but I'd prefer to tutor via an organized agency rather than have to go out and pin ads. Is there something like this at penn?

PS. Anyone know what the avg. rates are? I'd probably tutor spanish (native speaker) and maybe econ or math.

Yeah, I saw the tutoring center thing, but the require a minimum amount of hours. I was hoping to tutor maybe 3 hours a week or something like that.

try facebook spamming large groups of freshmen thru Courses or something?
Might be more targeted and you don't have to go outside and put up all those signs.

not sure - it wouldn't seem that hard for a tutee to make a good friend who happens to speak spanish anyway.
But you'll definitely find students for math and econ.

theoneo, do you know if it is a paid job? Or is it more of a voluntary thing? (either one would work, because I need $ but I could also use some experience on my resume).

I would assume it's paid like the tutor positions through the Tutoring Center, but the Language Center doesn't have much information at all, and the application doesn't ask anything about on-campus jobs or work-study, so maybe not.
