I heard of Sylvan many times. I really need to get 1600 for my SATs, The last test my score was 1080. Is it worth the money for going to Sylvan. Please help.

This is what you should do:
- Purchase a Kaplan SAT book and look through all of its strategies.
- Get the Princeton Review 11 SAT tests and do each test section by section without time. This will allow practice the Kaplan method and if you get something wrong, PR has answers and explanations.
- Once you start to get a copious amount of questions correct, start timing yourself and start doing the Princeton Review practice tests (do a test you didn’t work through to get accurate results).
- Once you see improvement, purchase the College Board Official Study Guide and aim to score higher than the 1600 mark.
- Practice vocab from Direct Hits or Princeton review’s concise hit and parade list.

If you feel you are still struggling, then you should use Sylvan.

1600 CR+M or 1600/2400? This needs to be clarified, makes a big difference…

wolf2400:thank you so much
aeirish:1600/2400.
W+CR+M

I don’t think it’s worth the money, but I remember seeing a youtube video of a guy who got a 36 on his ACT vouching for Sylvan.
