My daughter is going to be a freshman next year and she will be staying in Tutwiler. Are the beds in Tutwiler best suited for twin sheets or twin XL sheets?
Thanks.

Twin XL :).

We used regular twin in Tutwiler and they were just right. Here’s the info on the rooms in Tutwiler:

I think the situation is this…

The beds are technically Twin XL, but since today’s linens are made to fit VERY thick mattresses, and the college mattresses aren’t really that thick, a regular twin fitted sheet might fit.

However, if you add a 4 in mattress topper (one of those memory-foam types), then maybe a reg twin fitted won’t fit…but maybe it would.

Those who need to buy Twin XLs will find that stores often get them in around mid-July.

In Tutwiler the mattresses are regular twin (see link above). My D had a 4" memory topper and it was still fine. Most of the room layouts in Tut have the beds end to end with a desk in between the two beds. Believe me, there’s not an extra inch of space!

Wow never knew reg twin sheets would have worked…we did twin XL and ddid fine but if a twin fits go for it :).

I didn’t realize that Tut had shorter beds than - say - Ridgecrest, Riverside, etc…but maybe because it’s all girls, they only need regular twins. :)

Either way…we’ve found that regular twin fitted sheets have fit on the TwinXLs in the other dorms.

wow…just looked at the link…wow…nearly 1000 girls in that building.

Thanks for the help!
