during orientation I saw in rieber there was a room in the first floor with big screen tv... so that got me thinking...are there tv rooms in de neve? is it HD tv? can I plug in systems like ps3 into those? because im pretty sure im not buying a hd tv for my room so I was wondering if its possible to play on those... plus it should be fun to have ncaa tourneys(when you have friends going to colleges such as notre dame and cal its interesting to have a ncaa tourney then again everyone is gonna pick ucla)

you have to bring your own
the tvs are only there for summer guests who pay big $

there were two big screen tv's in hedrick when I lived there last year, basically you check out the remote and you own the tv for whatever period of time... but there's no way you're taking a tv when lost or grey's is on- i mainly used it for watching bball games (march madness with the floor buddies).

but is it possible to connect systems to it? or is it just for regular tv watching?

i'm sure there's s-video or whatever on there somewhere. never bothered to look since all the systems were hooked up in my room.

Yeah there are connections you can use - people do it all the time

oh sweet because my friend living in dykstra this year said they have one in the common room too... but does it have hd? :)

Yes, there is a projection TV in the DeNeve study room. This means you will have to mute the TV during peak hours. Unfortunately, this occurs between 11AM - 2AM.

Probably not HD. Did you seriously expect UCLA to spend money on its students?? lol.

lol thats a good point but I mean doesn't most big screens come with some sort of HD? I doubt i'll play during the week since I hasn't played games on weekdays for about 5 years so peak hour won't be a problem lol so just weekends not during peak hours then...

People start coming into that lounge on the weekends at around 10AM. And once 3 people are in there, you will have to mute the TV to avoid awkward situations.

You can go to Sproul or Rieber to play; those are more suitable areas with the same TV.

BoelterHall, you're ruining the fun! Why don't you just flat out say: "Play in your own room." :D

kick i live for Ncaa football. we should hang. we had a madden tourney on my floor last fall.

oh sweet im down for any kind of sports tourneys, ncaa nba, nfl, even fifa
btw isn't sproul closed?
