Alright, I'm an incoming transfer and I was assigned to Twain, does anyone have any idea what it's like? How's the food? The social life? How big are the rooms? Do they have sinks? Etc.

Any help would be appreciated as I have not been able to visit the campus and will be stepping on campus for the first time during orientation.

twain is part of stern hall, so you can look up stuff about stern dining if you want. i think its all pretty basic one room doubles that probably aren't that big. i don't think there are sinks but i don't really know.

I was put into Arroyo as an incoming transfer which "has the highest percentage of transfer students of any campus dorm" (unofficial guide). However, you as well as every other transfer ive seen (about 3 others) have twain. I believe stern has a higher number of upperclassmen and is generally mid pick for housing with wilbur (where arroyo is) being the notch below "where the unluckiest upperclassmen live".

Stern four class housing is definitely more frequently chosen than four class wilbur, because Twain and Burbank are the most active four class dorms on campus. Serra, Arroyo and Trancos have much quieter reputations.

The unofficial guide, while useful, doesn't get updated too often, if you read Branner's blurb it says it has just been renovated when the renovations were really two years ago, and things such as the percentage of transfer students in dorms definitely varies from year to year.

My roommate from last year and one of my favorite Stanford sophomores, along with about a dozen other people(non-frosh) i know, are living in Twain next year, so you should have a great time. :-)
