Tweeking my transcript

I'm not looking to change my grade or anything but I really hate A.P Stat! I've read a lot of discussions hear about how dropping AP's could ruin your chances of getting into college and I don't want to do that.
So I was wondering if I could just leave out AP Stat from my transcript (I'm home schooled) and pretend like I never took it in the first place.
I'm not failing the class, I'm just genuinely disinterested.

You will be rescinded from any college in a heartbeat if you did that. More interested colleges, such as Ivy Leagues, would even go far to revoke your degree AFTER you graduated if they found out. Whatever level of school, they would immediately rescind their offer if they discovered this.

That isn’t smart. Imagine not having a college to go to next year–your friends, family, parents, mentors all finding out what you did. You will have to wait another year, reapplying to colleges, explaining why you aren’t already in college.

Sometimes you just need to take a step back and see the big risks you are taking.

Whatever you do, DON’T drop out!!! Fight through it even if you get a bad grade because that shows colleges that you are challenging yourself and trying your best!

Were you self-studying for an exam or enrolled in an online/community college class?

If it’s the former, I see no reason to include it on a transcript. It’s not like you committed to it or anything, it’s really no different than a self-studyer enrolled in public school deciding not to go through with an extra AP exam. If it’s the latter, definitely do not omit it.

Have you applied to any colleges yet? If so, if you reported the class (current academics- or whatever it’s called on the CA itself,) you’d need to clarify with the school(s) whether they need some official note that you dropped it.

If you haven’t applied yet: I don’t think you would be rescinded, as a home schooler, where usually there are so many academic freedoms and choices. Allay your fears by calling a college on your list, letting them know this is home sch and asking: based on my current schedule, incl activities, I’d like to drop AP stats. Any problem with that? Do I even report it as dropped or just not note it? Or words you are comfortable with. You can ask anonymously. Good luck.

Yeah I called the home school counselor for my state and she said that since I’m self-studying it doesn’t count as A.P Stat’s since the course hasn’t been reviewed by a teacher or something, so on my transcript I can’t put it as A.P stat’s- just Stat. But she said if I changed my mind I could go take the A.P exam and get college credit for the course. And even if I did that I can’t go back to my transcript and write ‘A.P Stat’ it’d just have to be Stat…
So I won’t drop the class  thanks everyone!

Just fyi, you can still put an AP course on a transcript as AP. The College Board is not going to come after you and sue you for copyright violation. I’m a homeschooler and I have APs on my transcript that haven’t been approved by anyone. That’s not to say you have to put the Stats course on your transcript. After all, “real” schools often have add/drop periods where if you drop a class before a certain date. So your add/drop period can last as long as you want it to! But if you have other APs, feel free to designate them as such on the transcript.

Oh cool thanks! I 'm also taking A.P psychology, so I guess I’ll leave it as that on the transcript.
