Twilight vs. Harry Potter

^...because I have not seen a thread like this on cc, yet. :)

oh wow…crap is gonna get scary now

(I’m for Discworld! they have much cooler vampires and witches)

I’ll go first!

HARRY POTTER! The books are really good. Or are we talking about movies?

*I haven’t read the Twilight books but I heard the writing is mediocre at best.

Harry Potter ftw. Even though I stopped reading after the 3rd book b/c the 4th one was just too big.

I HATE twilight. IMO, it’s just like a cheap romance novel.

Twilight is the abyss of literature. You can’t get any worse than that.

I enjoyed reading the Harry Potter novels. I got to the fifth book.

Why bother making a thread? This is CC here, I’d be shocked if anyone read both and picked Twilight over Harry Potter.

^hah, kinda true. I don’t think people would admit to it here.

Which is odd, I don’t think people should be judged as dumb for reading twilight, it’s just a book, or series of 'em. My english teacher is incredibly intelligent and she actually read them, she says it’s good to get away from dickens and classic literature. She says the way vampires are created is something originally done while the language isn’t all that unique. I mean, it is something different, sparkling and kind vampires…not something I’d get into but it is different.

And if this makes anyone read more then so be it. Everyone judged the harry potter series at first also.

Oddly enough, Twilight fanfiction is actually sometimes a lot better than the source material. Anyone else agree?

Harry Potter = lame
Twilight = unfathomable fail

Slays Hungarian Horntail Harry Potter is superior to Twilight in sales, literary merit and overall epicness. Twilight is a sad fad, one that won’t stretch beyond our generation. Harry Potter will still be a must read when our kids have kids.

is this seriouslyy a question?
HARRY POTTER FTW  ;)

^agreed, like Lord of the Rings.

Slays Hungarian Horntail Harry Potter is superior to Twilight in sales, literary merit and overall epicness. Twilight is a sad fad, one that won’t stretch beyond our generation. Harry Potter will still be a must read when our kids have kids.

^ Probably not actually, our kids might get into some other child-aimed-novel. Todays little girls are reading Twilight, we read Harry Potter, next generation might read some friendly zombie story.

Ok so.

Harry Potter = Wins in books. Meh in movies
Twilight = FAILS in books. Wins in movies

I don’t like either in book form but I like the movies well enough.

^^ Seriously? Twilight wins in movies? Both the book and movie were horrible. The first book was actually alright; it was when they introduced all the cool vampire powers and stuff. The cheesy relationships killed it though. And then Meyer really destroyed it when she wrote about the a human pregnant with a half human half vampire child who grew up in like 10 days.

Harry Potter wins in books. I thought only the 1st and 4th movie were really good though.

^ I think the 3rd was good too.

SSRSSSRSSSRSSSRSSSRESSSRSSSRSSSRSbah3secsrrs

^^I liked the 1st and 2nd and 6th movie. =/
I liked the 4th’s fight scene with Dumbledore and Voldy

I don’t really think there is any competition here.

Btw, why are they making all the Twilight movies so quickly? My first belief was that they knew the Twilight/vampire fad would die out quickly and wanted to make the most of it, but I don’t know if it’s because the series takes place in the same amount of time.

Harry Potter wins in both books and movies.

Twilight sucks all the way.
