what do you think about Twilight and the other books (New Moon, etc.)? I'm just wondering how many people here like it.

The character Edward is a little unrealistic in that he's too good to be true. I've only finished the first 2 books and I'm trying to get my hands on Eclipse. They added a lot of humorous parts in the movie but what was up with the Asian guy? That was totally not how he was depicted in the book.

i read all the books.. but im not addicted. i have to agree with spaza on the Edward part.. if u find a guy like him please tell me!! (he's so sweet)

AHHH noooooo not here too.....

I read the first 3 books two years ago before it reached cult status, and was obsessed for a while. They're definitely not great literature and anyone who compares them to Harry Potter should be Avada Kedavra-ed, but it's scarily captivating.....

then Breaking Dawn came out and I disowned the series! EPIC EPIC FAIL. I still haven't seen the movie. :/

don't even get me started on twilight. i haven't read it and i don't want to. i read a bit of it, but it's terrible literature and the plot just stinks. the characters seem boring and one-dimensional.

and i happen to be a 16 year old female, so no, not all of us want to marry edward cullen.

@nothingatall:
i definitely agree that "anyone who compares them to Harry Potter should be Avada Kedavra-ed". nicely put. =)

i like the series

but i must say that it's just like any other teen romance fiction........except with vampires and werewolves.

I think it's poorly written. In my opinion, way too slow because there is so much unnecessary detail. (I read the first chapter of the first book)

I did watch the movie, however, and it had an interesting plot. Twilight (the movie) and I have a love/hate relationship because it was really "cute" but made me wayyy too depressed. I've never been a ridiculously hopeless romantic, but that movie made me lose faith in love. Love in that movie seems too unrealistic (and Edward too), and it makes me sad to think that I will never find it (and him).

The movie sucked.. if u read the book u saw no plot and some major events were gone

haha. That is how I feel about Harry Potter.

I rather die of a heroin overdose.

Sigur Ros (the band, I don't know you) is so amazing.

If there ever was a greater act of terrorism on US soil following 9/11, it would be the publication of Twilight and its sequels.

I actively boycott the books and movie...

I love them all.

A friend let me borrow Twilight. Usually once I read the first book in a series I just have to finish, so I ended up reading them all. Anyway, completely underwhelmed by all of them. Don't understand why people are so obsessed? Well I guess I do, the Twilight books are basically cheap romance novels targeted at teenage girls instead of adult women.

I actually liked the movie better than the books, which is something I NEVER usually say (Harry Potter much) because is seemed more modern. And the closing credits played to 15 Step :]

The book, many adult woman LOVE.
A lot of people love it.
many were disappointed with the movie due to the fact it didnt match up with the book so much!

I love sigur ros

Twilight = MS Word>>right-click>>thesaurus.

Instead of repeatedly calling Edward "Gorgeous," "Handsome" and every other variant, she should have just called him "Supah Hawtah Seksi Man." That way, it would read more like the Myspace dribble that it is.

summary of Twilight (spoiler alert)

A pathetic girl with no friends moves from sunny and happy Arizona to dribbly and miserable Washington. All of a sudden, everybody loves her but she still spends insane amounts of time whining. Then there's one table in the cafeteria that isn't obsessed with her, but they're hot, so she wants to be part of them. Blahblahblah, turns out that table is filled with vampires and one of them IS obsessed with her and starts stalking her and tries to control everything she does. By the way, he also sparkles. But instead of being creeped out she finds it sweet and sexy and apparently he's the perfect guy. More stuff happens... then at the very end of the book, there's finally some semblance of a plot! Another group of vampires becomes obsessed with her, and one of them tries to kill her. Edward saves the day. The end.

BTW, I'm a 17 year old girl and I've read every one except the last, so I do know what I'm talking about. These books are trite, boring, and very poorly written. Spare yourselves some brain cells and don't read them.

My brain is very aware of the fact that the books aren't well written, that the characters are one-dimensional and the plot not very original.

BUT. I can't help but reading them. A guilty pleasure, or something like that.
