Almost all of my college apps ask if an applicant has a twin and if the twin is applying to the same school? Do twins get a higher chance of acceptance?

anything??

I'm not sure, but I think some schools give some sort of scholarship if two twins are at the same school.

What schools are you applying to that ask that?

Duke, Rice, and Stanford

Maybe they want to see if the twins took the SAT on different days?

lol, i wonder how often twins have switched for SAT-taking purposes ... really, there wouldn't be any way to catch them...

I can shed a little light on Duke's treatment of twins (our twins were accepted ED last year)

They were told by several admissions officers that Duke appreciates and is sensitive to the strong bond between twins/multiples. If the applicants' profiles are very similar, they will be treated similarly. We took this to mean that they would either both be accepted or both rejected. However, if one applicant was stronger than the other, the Admissions Office would make the "tough decision".

I have also heard, but cannot confirm, that in a situation where one twin was a stronger candidate that the other, the Admissions Officer spoke with the students' guidance counselor to determine if that would create difficulties for the students. Ultimately, one was accepted and the other rejected.

wow i did not know about that! thanks proud!
