Congratulations on UMich and science. Wonderful stuff. Hooray for the Yale EA-deferee family!
If you're admitted to Yale RD, is it still your first choice? It's more or less off my list now, sorry to say, after acceptances from the schools of music at Indiana University and Vanderbilt.
I wish you continued good luck! (not that you need too much of it! happiness is what i mean.)

Congratulations on all of your good news! Your planned trip to Europe sounds wonderful. It's great, too, to hear about your brother's success, and to see how supportive you are of him. What made me happiest about your post was hearing about how you're delighting in appreciating yourself and coming into your own.

I wish you the best! Thanks for updating us.

Becky -

I just got back from a weekend trip skiing to find your music. Absolutely excellent! I'm burning them onto a CD so I can listen to them in my car. Now, I'm searching for the right cover art....

Thanks for posting them.

Becky:

I also listened to some of your music. Wonderful! You have amazing talent.

Thank you to all. Digmedia, I'm glad you're enjoying them (enough for a car cd!). Fiddlefrog, Yale is still among my top choices, although there are other contenders. Juilliard is no longer in the running. Subsequently, many people recommended Indiana and their voice program to me, but

a. it was too late to apply, and
b. I don't want to be in Indiana.

However, I wish you the best of luck! :)

Frecklybeckly: Indiana is great for grad school.

Further updates:
-Rejected from Northwestern
-Waitlisted at Oberlin
-Waitlisted at Barnard
-Waitlisted at Brandeis

...ouch. My teacher advisor for the school newspaper jokingly said someone had blacklisted me. Sure seems that way...I certainly can't wait for the impending slaughter on Thursday.

So sorry to hear it, Becky. Something great will come through for you, I'm sure. It's too bad that the bad news had to come first.

Hello frecklybeckly,

I'm new here but I just want to say how much I enjoy and admire your posts. You seem like an exceptionally interesting and strong person to me. I join the many others here in wishing you the best, and in being confident that you are going to be a terrific success in life.

Now if only I could figure out how to listen to you sing! :)

Becky,
Keep your chin up. You've got Michigan and something else will likely come through as well. Where else besides Yale are you still waiting to hear from? Also, waitlists are not final.
I am rooting for you!!!
-TwinMom

hi Becky, if it's any consolation, my son must have been 'black listed' along with you. He has also been waitlisted at Oberlin and also at Wash U. We're still hoping for better things to come. :D
andi

frecklybeckly and andi's son,

My heart goes out to both of you! Please keep the faith! SOMETHING WONDERFUL is awaiting you both, I am sure. Sending lots of love and prayers....~berurah

Thank you, all-

fiddlefrog-do you know yet where you're going to be next year?

ADad-thank you very much. I actually posted some links on this thread, but if they've expired, let me know and I'll repost them. :)

Twinmom-I'm still waiting to hear from too many schools. :D Among them are some ivies and some big universities, and from all over the country. I'll let you know!!

Andi-I'm sorry to hear that. This year has been exceptionally tough with admissions, it seems. Best of luck to your son, and maybe I'll be going to school with him next year.

Beruah-You are so supportive!! Thanks.

Hi frecklybeckly,

Thank you for your response.

The best that I could do was find some expired links on the Yale Forum. Maybe I should ask my kids for help! :)

Best wishes to you!

Dear frecklybeckly,

See, I knew I should have asked for help!

I just reread your post more carefully and saw that you had posted on THIS THREAD. Oops.

But, you are very popular and apparently all of the files are expired.

Your audience is clamoring for more! :)

I know you are busy. But, if you do have the time, I and I am sure others would be very grateful if you are able to repost.

Once again, best wishes to you!

Frecklybeckly, I know yet another kid who was waitlisted at Oberlin for music education (oboe player). He will attend University of Arizona. I think I read on another thread their app deadline is April 1.

Hi Becky,

I am wondering how you and your brother handled the bulk of your college visits. Did you largely visit the same schools, and, if so, did you visit together or separately?

TwinMom

Before we applied, we took a road trip to see certain schools together (with our parents). Once he was accepted to Harvard and MIT, he went up by himself, despite the fact that I had applied to Harvard, too. I will probably go see Michigan without him. Before the applications, though, we saw everything together.

Thanks - just trying to figure out how to get all the visits in!

Becky -

I made the CD and, on a short trip with the family, listened to the music while I told them about some of your posts. Good luck later this week from all of us!!
