twins with same stats

My brother and I are twins, go to the same school, and have very similar stats. How will this affect us in admissions if we apply to the same schools, however we will also apply to different ones. The schools that we are both looking to apply to are: Pomona, Columbia(legacy), Princeton, Swarthmore, and Haverford.
School Profile : very low income
Ethnicity: Pakistani

GPA : 4.0 unweighted, not sure weighted as my school caps gap at 4.32

APs : Completed 9 so far - Opted for 5 more next year : Calc BC, Spanish Lit, Gov/econ, Chem, and Physics

SAT scores: 730 R – 760 M-- 720 W

Subject SATs : 800 US and 800 Bio(E)

APs :; : APUSH 5 ; AP Human geo 5 : AP ENG Lang 5 : AP Spanis Lang 5, AP Eng lit 5, AP Euro 5, AP Enviro 5, AP Bio 4, AP Calc AB 4

Note: Not a native spanish speaker, but did well on Spanish test (will that look good?)

Hooks : Very good musician, played in major competitions all over California

ECs: Model UN chair, Philosophy club officer. two time varsity cross country and soccer player. I play in the local youth orchestra and have won major competitions for solos in the county level. I also was on the 4th place academic decathlon team in California two years ago, and received seven medals at the county competition which my team took first in.
I have also been in my counties honor band for the las five years and have consistently received a superior rating in local solo festivals. Regarding sports I was named the most improved runner and best offensive player last year, being picked by my coaches.

The only difference between my brother and myself is our sat score, I have a 2210 and he has a 2220 (730 CR, 800M, 690 W).

It may help you as I remember some applications asking if you have a sibling applying and the college may feel somewhat obligated to accept both of you if it wants to accept one.

thanks

It may also somewhat hurt you as if a college doesn’t have room for two copies of you, they might reject you so they dont only accept one of you

If you are in California, will you be applying to UCs and CSUs? They have relatively good in state financial aid.

Will you and he have similar or different academic interests?

We will both apply to the UC’s, but not the CSUs
We have the same interests for the most part although we both agreed to major in different areas.

On the common app theres an option that says something like “do you have a sibling also applying to our university” so they do take some interest, not sure what it could mean though

Keep this posted, I am curious to know if any of those colleges will accept one of you but not the other. Could come down to gender difference and essays.

kk I definetly will, I’m interested/nervous also

So, will you submit identical essays?

And to be honest, most twins that we know or knew talked about their choices together. They sometimes did have a little overlap, but mostly they tried to talk about where they each really wanted to go, and the other would not apply there.

It is very odd if you had all the same AP scores and subject test scores.

Also, I would say talk a little about essay topics - if you write about the same thing like “being Pakistani in a very low income school district” or “playing music at a high level”, I’d think that would be a problem for adcoms.

Haven’t you ran across this issue before, with music for example? Or are there more differences than you let on?

There are more differences, mainly in ec’s but we were both kind of shocked when we got our standardized test results back and they were so similar. Most likely we will apply to about 3 or 4 schools that are the same, and the rest will be different

We will try to make our essays as different as possible
