So I just got my scores, I got a 32 (35E 29M 35R 35S) I’m applying to Georgetown EA. Two quick questions.

I have a 1400/2100 SAT (straight 700s). My 32 is stronger, right?

Do the schools look mostly at the composite or the individual sections? If so, would my consistent 700s be stronger than my off-balanced ACTs, even though my English/Reading scores were INCREDIBLE? (Note: Applying to the School of Foreign Service where Reading/English skills are more needed)

Thoughts?

They're about equal (with a slight nudge towards the 32 being stronger on some comparison charts).

Depends on the school, but I wouldn't worry about a 29 in one section with a 32 composite (I'm in the same boat- 35M, 36S, 33R, and 29E (33 comp), but I'm an engineering applicant so I've got a similar imbalance like you do). What matters is what they ask for- if when they ask you to self report every section, then they're weighted equally; only composite, then that's what they want; but if they ask for something like math and english, that's generally the bias.

I think you mis-reported one of your sub-sections because a 32 comp. doesn't make sense.

Ah I did! Whoops. 28 S haha.

^Yeah that would be a 34 comp.

I'd guess it would be the science that was misreported?
I didn't even think you could get a 35 science- doesn't 1 wrong generally give you a 34?

Errr: cross posted

Yep johnson, I wrote it wrong. My bad!
