I can't believe I completely forgot that there was a subforum for SAT Subject Tests..and all this time I thought everything was in the SAT Preperation forum! o_o Oops..guess I'm used to that forum since I post there so much. Ah well.

Anyway,

I signed up for three SAT Subject tests on November 7th: Math I, U.S. History, and Literature. This is probably my last chance to retake three SAT II's (this is my second time - the first time I took SAT IIs was in June of my Sophomore year: Literature/420, World History/470, and Biology M/490). I haven't really started preparing yet (I just got my preperation books from the library on Tuesday), and I plan to start tomorrow (I would've studied today, but I have schoolwork to do..-_-). This leaves me only 15 days before I take the exam (Dec 1st). So I was wondering..is this really enough time to study sufficiently before the exam? If so, what should I do to get the most out of my preperation?

I'm definitely going to focus on practice tests, that's for sure..with a little bit of Math review here and there. Math I shouldn't be too bad..I'd just have to practice like crazy. I didn't take U.S. History as a course in high school, so I'm going to have to do a bit more than just practice tests I guess..any suggestions for this issue?

Literature, I'll do my best at, because interpreting poems and intricate passages are really not my thing..does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do for literature as well?

General tips and advice? Please? I'd really appreciate it.

Also, does anyone know where I can get more practice tests? Anyone have any that they can lend to me? :0

Here are the preperation books that I'm using to prepare:

CB Official SAT II Study Guide for Math IC and Math IIC.

CB Official SAT II Study Guide for World History and U.S. History

Peterson's SAT II Success - Literature

Peterson's SAT II Success - Math IC and IIC

CB Real SAT IIs (I couldn't find CB's current version at the library).

That's about it I guess. Help would greatly be appreciated, thank you! ^_^;

Why are you taking US history without ever taking a US history course? Seems like too much work to learn in so little time. Otherwise, literature and Math ive heard doesn't require a lot of studying. But if ur gonna take US history, i would definitely focus on that

dude i hate to break it to you but 15 days is definetly not enough to study for those 3 sat 2s (especially history)..... your best best is to just take 1 of them, maybe 2 at most but i wouldnt recommend it, and just focusing wholly on studying for that exam... good luck youll definetly need it considering you did so poorly the first time you took the sat 2s

take Lit and Math. just take those instead. if you truly wanted to do USH in two weeks without having taken a class prior, you should buy AMSCO and read three chapters a night, (there are about 30), then take a practice test, check out which sections you sucked on, study those, repeat, and so on for the last five days.

Okay..I see what you guys mean. I'm thinking of moving it to January 26th - I'm sure that'll be enough time to prepare. By the time I take the test, I should have gone through a U.S. History course. What do you think about this idea?

The only (slight) problem I have with this is that I'm sending my application to Rutgers around the beginning or middle of december. Although they have a rolling deadline (you can apply to the school anytime until the school closes or until all the seatings are full - which generally happens around the summer - ), but I would like to get my application in early, for the earlier, the better. They said its fine if I send in everything (my app, SAT I scores, transcripts, etc.) around December and then give them a small note that states that I'm going to send an updated SAT Subject score report later on...the thing is, I'm worried that by the time the update subject test scores DO come in for them (which will be around FEBRUARY!), they'll have already started analzying my application. Although SAT IIs aren't a requirement for Rutgers, they do take it into consideration if you've taken them. What do you guys think about this situation? Should I still move the test date or study like crazy for December?

Princeton isn't a problem, since the last test date they will accept is January 26th. And they require SAT Subject tests, so this really isn't a big deal.

Same thing for TCNJ --> Regular deadline = Feb 18th, so I'll have a reasonable amount of time I guess. I'll have to ask them about that.

I would've studied earllier, but I had to take the SAT Reasoning Test in November..no possibility of studying BOTH at the same time, now is there? The SAT I is overwhelming enough. D:
