Two AP tests in one day - May 2017

I have AP Chem and AP Psych back to back on Monday… Chem starts at 8 and should go until noon, but psych starts at exactly noon, so I don’t know how that will work out. Is it possible to request a late start for psych? I don’t even know if its possible but I’ve never asked my counselor about it.

Also, any tips for that day? (Since it is on Monday, I’ll have the weekend to rest but I also have APUSH and other finals to study for…)

Hey what’s your personal schedule? Also, are AP calc Ab, AP Physics 1, and AP chemistry too much for the same year?

The exam is 3 hours and 15 minutes. With a break, you should be done at 11:30. Assuming that both exams are at the same school, you will have plenty of time, but will have to eat lunch on the run.

You can always ask, but the answer will be “no.” This will be good practice for college, when it is likely that you will fave 2 finals on the same day.

Lots of kids have two tests in one day. The tests are scheduled (am/pm) to account for that. I really can’t see a reason to ask for a later start (and I doubt the school is allowed to grant that unless there is an IEP/504 plan involved).

My D has Calculus in the am followed by Spanish Lit in the afternoon. It will be a marathon for sure. There is a nationwide schedule for the tests.

This is a tough draw for you. Last year my kid had to take two AP exams the same day, at least one of which was extra long. I think the kids had to come in EARLY to do the listening portion of the AP Spanish Exam, then eat lunch quick followed by (I believe) AP Physics I which was also very demanding. I do very much wish that they would space these tests out better. Good luck!

A lot of kids do it and most schools will make sure you have a small break in between. Our HS even provides snacks for the students during the break. If you prepare well, it won’t be an issue. Good luck!

My kid did this last year. No, you will not be able to change the start time. Hihg energy snacks and drinks will help. Good luck.

When they schedule two tests one in the morning and one in the afternoon, there would be no overlapping in time but the break can be very tight.
