CUNY Baruch or SUNY Binghamton?

I am looking foward to pursue a career somewhere within the business field, but am debating over two schools right now. I will be a transfer student in the fall 06'. So far, these are the pros and cons I've came up with for myself, please add on along with any other advice and opinions. They are greatly appreciated!

A few things holding myself back from Baruch is because it is a CUNY. I'm not sure how well it would balance compared the supposedly best SUNY (Bing). However, I am told that it's better to go to Baruch b/c it is a business based school, whereas Bing is more medical based and/or business based.

I would probably get more to full financial aid at Baruch, whereas I would get about half my tuition paid with financial aid at Bing. At Baruch, I would be able to live at home and is an urban area. At Bing, I would be able to have the 'college experience/dorming', but it is said to be crazy cold during the winters.

Lastly, I am hoping to find answers for: would it matter whether it is a CUNY or SUNY when speaking of these two schools for business? How different is the education? What would you choose in my position? If possible, please add why.

well I would personally choose Baruch, I dont know anything about CUNY or SUNY but if people say Baruch is better if you're majoring in Business then you should go there. Also, you get more fin. aid money right? plus living at home isn't that bad since you save more money and you won't have to miss your parents. From what you put up there, the only Pro about SUNY is that it is a higher ranked school than Baruch, but if it is not known for business, then you won't get a good education in business, therefore it won't prepare you for grad. school. Also, when you go to grad school, lets just say u graduated from Baruch, you won't have any or much debt, plus you know you got a good ed. in business. As for your concern in not getting the "college experience", well you dont really have to live on campus to get the college experience, just try to be really involved in school activities. If you think about it, you can always dorm when you go to grad school. After all, your grad. school degree will matter more, since that is the last place you graduated from. I hope that helps

I suppose you're right. I think the biggest problem (i forgot to mention) was being unsure of the business field. If I were to pick Baruch, I'd be stuck with business b/c it's pratically a only business based school whereas Bing is more well rounded, I can change majors if I ever wanted to.
