Two classes with the same prof in one semester?

I'm thinking about taking two different classes with the same professor this fall. Have anyone ever done this before. Is there any cons?

Not really, at least i haven’t noticed any.

I’m entering college this year, so I have no experience, but I imagine a con would be if he/she’s a terrible professor, you might have to struggle twice as much. :/

I’m in a residential college with only about a dozen profs. I’ve done it numerous times. The only downside is that it can be awkward if it’s a small class and you skip one class and go to the other.

I also have two classes with the same professor in the same day this coming fall. I’m excited for both classes, so I hope things aren’t awkward. If anything, you might just need to make sure you try equally hard in both classes, but on a plus side, if you do well in both classes, you might become very close to your professor.

I just did it last semester. The only con is if you don’t like the professor for one class, you won’t like them for the other. But that rarely happens, and by going to office hours I was able to build a rapport and that probably helped with the final grade I got.

I’m a prof who often has students taking multiple classes with me. I won’t comment on the “horrible prof” risk  but even if you skip the first class, I’m always happy to see you for the second one.

You might get two similar announcements (“there’s a lecture coming up on Tuesday that I’d really like people to attend if possible”) or current events discussions, and it’s possible you might have exams scheduled on the same day (personally, I try to spread out the assignments between classes so I have time to grade them, but everyone is different).

Assuming it’s not a huge class, the prof will probably know your name and recognize your face faster than for other students.

I had a problem telling the classes apart in my memory, because they were in the same seminar room.

She was an ok lecturer, but I hadn’t chosen either of her classes. (Bad luck)

I found the modules dull, so that semester dragged in terms of classes.

I had the same professor three times a day 2 days a week. I really liked him so it worked out well. It really motivated me to go, because if I missed one class he would wonder. I never missed a class, but another student did and she would ask him for powerpoints/homework from the previous class and he wouldn’t give it to her.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I think I’m going to go ahead and sign up for the two classes. From what I’ve read on ratemyprofessor she is a good prof.
