<p>As a Brown student, I have to say that this miserable "pending" and sharing your decision with everyone crap is very, very un-Brown!</p>
<p>I adapted the list to include the pendings with my post as a subtle jab at the ridiculousness of the situation. But I call BS on wanting to alleviate stress from the college admissions process "very, very un-Brown." Or maybe I should call BS on you being an actual Brown student: shouldn't products of the Ivy League know very is a word to avoid in writing?</p>
<p>If all of this is "un-Brown," though, what is "Brown"? Trolling on an internet college admissions message board instead of studying or being productive?</p>
<p>Shut up, man.</p>
<p>Only as much as one should know that a long, hot poker is something one should avoid sticking up someone else's...</p>

<p>That said, I should say that I love Brown, and what I love about it is that it is a community, with little direct competition, where everyone learns from everybody else. If that's what you want, you'll love Brown! </p>

<p>To say that discussion with each other here about who's getting in and who's not is "un-Brown" is just foolish. No matter what you say, competition exists everywhere. Competition exists at Brown. The brochures and silly idealist students like yourself may say otherwise, but that's because you haven't a clue about the nature of reality.</p>
<p>People brag about high SAT scores; people brag about their physical abilities; people brag about having lots of sex; people brag about getting into good colleges. It's human nature to draw attention to oneself in this manner, just to push one's self esteem up a notch, and just to empathize. And you're criticizing us for being anxious to share our admissions decisions with each other? How is that any different than us meeting up with our friends this weekend to say, "Guys! I got in!" or "Guys! I didn't get in"? Do you expect us not to share the decision with anybody, to hold it in forever as if it's no big deal? Nobody is that modest, and why should they be? Whether or not I get in, I will be looking for people who got in and who didn't to talk to, to share my frustrations or my congratulations with. There is no reason for any of us here to shut ourselves out and not to reveal the decision that has been made.</p>

There are some whom I've talked to over IM that I really hope get in because they seem cool. Is it bad to want to know what happens to the people of our little community here?</p>
