Two degrees, same major. Is this pointless?

I think I've finally decided what I wanted to do regarding majors:

Receive a B.A. and B.S. in Computer Science.

The two actual programs at the college are very different though; and I've checked both curriculum, there are no courses overlapping.

B.A. Computer science focuses on software development.
B.S. Computer Science focuses on AI and robotics.
I'd also like to minor in EE.

Both are fields I want to do. My worry is that to an employer, having a B.A. and a B.S. in the same field would look pointless—and I'm wondering if it actually is pointless?

I'm required to double major but am not interested in any of the other fields offered and strongly want to pursue robotics. The only robotics program is offered through the B.S. CS major; and I've already almost completed my B.A. degree.

Advice, please?

Also, is MechEng an option for doing robotics? I'm considering taking this instead of the second B.S.
I've looked into EE but it's not something I'm very interested in (hence the minor) but heard it could be beneficial for pursuing robotics.

Actually, I’ve decided to go with Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.

Is this a good match for robotics?
(Sorry for the questions, my adviser is clueless and doesn’t know the answers either.)

I think, but am not sure, that robotics consists of many different fields. What in robotics do you want to go into? Designing the control system?Designing the actually moving parts of the robot? Setting up the circuitry on it?

Well if your major interest is CS and robotics, Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering (the similarity of these programs vary from school to school from what i’ve read on these boards) would be more closely related to the computational/programing aspects of robotics. Keep in mind that both Cmpe/EE will dig deep into device physics which may or may not be more than you’re interested in.

I’m more interested in both the programming aspect and the mechanical aspect.

I’m not at all interested in circuitry; but I planned to minor in EE as I figured it might be useful to know some of it.
I’m thinking of pursuing Mechanical Engineering. I’m not entirely sure if it’s a right fit, though.

Some people might not agree with me but I think it would be better to major in MechE because its such a broad field your bound to find someway to apply it to robotics
