two Ds in second semester of senior year

hi,

so i'm a high school senior right now and my second semester is coming to an end.

I have two Ds and one c. this is unacceptable and shocking for me as i have NEVER gotten a d.

my gpa BEFORE this second semester was at 3.7 and i'm a full IB diploma candidate. (just took my exams)

the reason my grades are so slow is because we only took one mock and in most of my classes, we were not given a chance to improve our grades.

i will be attending ithaca college and i would like to transfer to places like cornell, northwestern, or brown.

will this hurt my chances even if i manage to get perfect grades in college?

I don’t think it will if you apply during your sophomore year as a transfer but if you apply during your freshman year for Fall 2011, they will look more closely at high school grades. However, there are so many success stories on this board of people with much, much worse hs records than yours. But you will need to get a very high GPA in college and prove you can excel at that higher level. Also, since you are still in hs, I would try doing anything you can to appeal to your teachers and try to get the grades changed. No chance for extra credit for a good student? Maybe talk to a dean?
