I received an associate degree from an foreign university more than 10 years ago. The problem is, the grades on the transcript is very low. 2 courses are B, most of them are C and D. This is partially due to a different grading standard compared to the standard of USA. I guess the GPA might by about 2.1.
I also enrolled in Houston Community College since last summer. I have finished 30 credit hours including Cal I and Cal II. I also have another 18 hours in progress. My current GPA is 4.0 and it is expected to remain 4.0 after finishing this semester.
I am worried about the negative influences of the 1st transcript. If UT combine these two transcripts, my GPA might be less than 3.0, which is definitely uncompetitive considering my major is computer science. How do you guys think about it? Is it possible to choose NOT to transfer the course credits I earned in the 1st transcript?
