Would it be detrimental to my application if I asked two history teachers for my letters of recommendation?

I feel like both my APUSH teacher and AP Government teachers know me very well and they would write the best letters, but I have heard having two from the same subject looks bad.

I'm not planning on going into math or science either.

It is a very, very good idea to have recs from teachers of different subjects so you can be portrayed as one who succeeds in different academic areas. Don’t be afraid to ask a teacher you are not as close with. If you ask, they will be willing to say in advance if they think they will be able to write a good recommendation for you as they will not want to spend time writing a bad recommendation.

But if you don’t have much choice, having two history teachers will be fine so long as they write glowing recommendations for you.
