(1) I know what my top choices are. Should I get my application in right away, or does it not matter when I get it in as long as it's in by May 1st?

(2) The reason I asked (1) is because I'm applying for a residential program (Mentors Program) so I'd rather take my sweet time perfecting my essay and maybe adding on another credential. Are residential programs really competitive? Should I even expect a shot at the Mentors Program as a freshman?

I read on the application that as long as you have your app in by May 1st, you will be processed in the first round.

I’m pretty positive that as long as they’re in by May 1st everyone has an equal chance, even for residential programs, so it doesn’t matter if you submit it now or take your time and submit it April 30th.

@redandblue: how did you find that application? I’m looking around for it everywhere and I can’t seem to find it… Do ALL residential programs have an additional application? I was under the impression that if you got into a residential college that has a program and you wanted to participate, you would be able to do so without any sort of additional process…
