Does anyone know if Cornell defers any ED applictaion to RD or just waitlist? I am hearing that Cornell doesn't defer at all. Very occasionally they waitlist from ED list. Any idea?

What is the CAS acceptance rate? Per Cornell stats, this college take highest number of students. Do I assume then that thier acceptance rate is higher for ED or RD? Please help.

Defer is for ED candidates who don't make it in the ED round. These people are then put into the RD round and reviewed again. Waitlist is for people who do not get accepted in the RD round, but are not rejected either.

They can get their acceptance from the time they are waitlisted until the end of summer. When Cornell begins to know that they are under their student quota, they send out those acceptance letters to waitlisted people. You never know if you'll be accepted from a waitlist. You might, but most likely not.
