Two questions....

1) I was just contacted by my Alumni interviewer-person today and went ahead and set up the interview - should I bring anything special, like a resume?

2) I'm thinking of sending a research abstract from my summer internship...do I have to mail it in, or can I send it in over email/internet?

Go Duke!

Thanks :)

1) Not necessary to take anything, but it helps to look and be prepared

2) Mail it. Make sure to label it properly (full name as it appears on application, etcetera)

for the common app in general, does duke allow us to attach a resume as "additional info"? i wanted to elaborate on my ECs.

and so we are allowed to send a research abstract? i've heard otherwise...but no entire research papers for sure right?

lydia423,

I don't see attaching a resume as a problem....I didn't use the common app...but I do recall elaborately on my ECs via some "additional info" section when I applied

You're allowed to send anything you want. I've seen newspaper clippings, modeling portfolios, recommendation letters from parents and siblings, CDs, tons of stuff. A resume is fine. Half the applications have a resume attached (well, not half but a lot).

are newspaper clippings of articles you write or articles about you?

Both. Read what I posted. You're allowed to send anything you want. People send in just about everything. Be reasonable, though (e.g., don't expect the admissions officers to read your 30 page research paper).
