What is the reputation of the undergraduate economics department?

WM doesn’t have a wrestling program any more. My son was the last coach they had. It’s a shame! That said…you have to bring up your SAT’s to have a real chance. Admissions is tougher each year, especially for out of state students. From what I understand, they are putting more money into their business program. Brand new, start of the art Business school building opened this year. Current students can offer more insight to economics.

I’m taking the ACT this Saturday and I am much better at that than the SAT; hoping for a 32 or 33. I am also taking a college-level writing class right now and I really hope that this combined with my experience in Latin America will create a great essay that can really help my chances

Sounds like you will be a competitive applicant especially if your anticipated ACT score comes through.

W&M is know for being an incredibly strong liberal arts university and thus any one of the majors offered is strong (including economics). The proximity of W&M to Washington, DC provides a lot of opportunities for internships and interactions with top professionals (which is especially useful to the political science/econ/public policy students).
