from a VERY excited member of the class of 2014:

Does Middlebury offer any pre-orientation trips? I haven't been able to locate this information for some reason.

A silly question, I know. Do you think it's possible to get on the Quidditch team as a lanky and non-athletic, yet eager freshman? I'd love to play, but I'm inclined to believe that at the school that invented the sport, competition to get on the team must be fairly intense. :D

Thank you!

I’m not totally sure about your first question–there used to be MOO, but that was cut due to budgets. Last year they did a new program called OWL, but I’m not sure if that’s happening again…

But I’m happy to tell you that you can DEFINITELY play Quidditch. Everyone who wants to be on a team gets onto one. You can also start a team with you hallmates–my freshman hall did. All of the Midd teams play each other leading up to the World Cup, when the best team is entered for Midd (and thus far, has always won).
