1) Can they be submitted on January 15th or must they be submitted before midnight on Jan 14?

2) Educational Goal... Is that like the student's mission statement? like..."to develop a greater awareness of the world etc." Or is it specific, like how your education will help you in your future career? btw I applied undecided.

Deadline has been extended to 5 pm on the 19th (I called the office to confirm). But remember that Monday is a holiday, so if you’re FedExing, do it tomorrow, the 15th. Materials must be RECEIVED by the 19th, not just postmarked!!

Wait, the deadline is extended? What about the University Scholar in Medicine online application and the scholarship applications? Since they are to be submitted online, can I still submit them after the Friday deadline?

Are you sure the deadline is extended? It seems that things like teacher recs are what’s due by the 19th. I’m gonna have to call them tomorrow asap for my own clarification:

Seme25, I agree it’s confusing. That’s why I called them. They definitely said as long as they get everything by January 19 at 5 pm, you’re fine - application and everything. I don’t know why they worded it the way they did. But it’s ALWAYS a good idea to check for yourself! I’m just a random stranger on an internet board! :-)

^thanks MaineLonghorn!! I think I’ll call them tomorrow too just to make sure (I’ll be devastated if I end up missing the deadline) but the information you gave was definitely extremely helpful:D

hey just another quick question, and maybe there’s someone else here up still working on this scholarship app

is a works cited needed for the scholarship essay?
I’m doing one of the arts and sciences ones, and i didn’t have one originally, but I just saw something on the online app saying “Including any special characters (such as &, <, >, or bullets) in your short answers, essay, or works cited will cause you to receive an error.” Does that mean a works cited is required?

These scholarship applications ask you to talk about yourself, so I don’t think that a works cited would be required. The option of creating one never even crossed my mind.

I’m glad you checked. I will sleep better now. We FedExed stuff this morning (DS included his Eagle Scout project report, because they said he could, so it was too much to fax).
