I was wondering what major banks are near Amherst, so I can sign up with a bank that’s has some level of convinenece. X.x
What restaurants are open the latest in Amherst? (Preferably the ones on campus.) I’m kinda a night owl.

Bank of America is the closest (5-10 minute walk from campus) and I believe TD Banknorth is across the street from it.

There are actually a ton of restaurants open late, both walk in and delivery. Closing at 2AM weekdays and 4AM (or even later) on weekends is not uncommon. This is a very useful online site that has hours and menus for every place around campus, although keep in mind that the hours shown may be shorter because it’s the summer now. It’s also oddly missing a couple of places (Antonio’s and D.P. Dough) which are also open late and very good.

Another random question about Amherst for an experienced student – this time from a parent who already has a student there –

Is The Option the only means of selling back textbooks at the end of the term? I mean, I understand that the Option doesn’t really buy them back, but instead gives a students a venue to try to sell them, but does the local bookstore that supplies the textbooks do any buy-back at all?

Amherst Books does buy backs of used textbooks.
