Do you think 2 out of 7 classes being study halls are pretty bad for a junior schedule? My other classes are core subjects and are 2 ap's, and honors/accellerated level.

Do you think its a bad idea? The other options is taking just electives... like something in art, or technology or business.. etc.

Yes, but I am not too excited about the elective I am in right now and I'm thinking of changing it - either to another elective (if good ones are available...) or to a study hall. Not sure. :-/

I think two studies junior year out of seven classes are way to much for your most important academic year of high school.i would either stick with the elective you dont like or try to switch electives to something better suited for you before you pick up another study hall

Good point Gator. Do you think it matters which elective though? Obviously if I can find one that suits my interest it would be a plus, if not.. would taking Gym/PE be bad or just as bad as taking a study hall? (Note, I took PE in freshmen year too as a requirement).

Also, do you think starting a new language at this point would be a good idea? Any other language I decide to take I would start at level 1 ofcourse. Maybe this would stand out given that I am interested in international relations?

Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions, but I wouldn't even think you need one study hall. It's your choice, though. Personally, I'd take an elective (yay art!)

There is no such thing as being too late to jump on the language bandwagon. Go for it!

If you are a straight-A student, take 2 study halls, and your weighted GPA will shoot up so fast that you'll likely be in the top 5 of your class rank.

If you mean 2 study halls five days a week, then yes, that's a bit much. My junior year I had 0 study halls. Heck, even this year I only have 3 periods a week

I have no studies halls and 2 days lunch because gym is 3 days a week. Next year, I won't even have lunch because AP Biolody is a double period every 2 days.

drop at least one of your study halls and start a language. It is definitely not too late, especially if you know someone who is already taking it who can give you a hand. In fact, finding a way to drop your other one would be even better.
