I second number 1. Maybe like a more expensive salon place? I got my haircut at home in “Studio B” of a pretty expensive salon. 20~30 bucks plus tip

you have many choices, more than you think. most people default to scott j’s right on 114 and bway above starbucks, you get a 10% discount if you show your cuid. cuts start at 25 bucks for guys and can get pricey.

if you are a guy and want a simple haircut, some of the dominican places around are hard to beat. there is a supercuts also on 102 and bway.

there is a new salon opened up at 105 and bway right next to silver moon bakery, looks chic. and then there is a place between 108 and 109 on bway. there is a salon at 121 and amsterdam, i have never been in, but it looks like they do more intricate things - weaving, braiding.

many of my friends went off campus for their haircuts, a lot of places on uws. um, off of 5th ave in the 50s there is apparently a cosmetology school that offers free haircuts if one of the students do it.
