Two Urgent Questions. Help!!!

If I dropped a major class with a W, then retake it and got a A, would it lower my chance in transferring?

My ultimate target is Haas school in UC Berkeley
Here is my second question about Haas's transferring requirement I found on assist.org

"Complete all prerequisite courses (see below) with a letter grade of C- or
higher no more than 5 years before starting the business major. If you repeated
or have taken more than one course to fulfill a prerequisite you must use the
first attempt to satisfy the requirement. If you received a C- or higher for
your first attempt you should not repeat the prerequisite."

If I failed my major class and then got a A after I repeated the class, Could I use the later result for applying?

A “W” will not lower your chance, and if you truly failed it and then repeated to get an “A” you will be fine.

A W is not a qualifying grade. It’s not going to produce any units, so if you were to get a W and then retake it and received an A, it would still be the first letter-graded attempt. In other words, if you’re doing poorly in one of your classes right now, drop it and retake in the spring.

Thank you so much. I think I know what to do now.
