When I click for an unofficial transcript, it doesn't show me my GPA, just the courses and the grades, and the average letter grade for all the classes I've taken. I can either calculate the average of the point values for every letter grade I've gotten, or simply convert the given average letter grade into my GPA. It would be much higher if I did it the second way, but for purposes of applying to internships, would it be deceptive to calculate my GPA that way when the school has already computed the average letter grade for me?

Hmm, that is weird. Are all of your classes worth the same number of units? Did you take that into account?

I would go to your college’s website and see how they calculate it. Then it will be the same as how your official transcripts will show.
