Type of Students?

The only Pepperdine students I know personally are black. I'm middle eastern, and I discussed my ethnicity in my essay rather thoroughly (it was about the Palestinian-Israeli crisis).
I don't think that everyone fits the stereotype.

And EVERY school in California can boast more diversity than Pep. Even private schools like USC and Stanford.

Just beware of statements that include every, all, none, noone, everyone...definite sign of lack of true substance. Visit the schools you are interested in an find which ones fit. Obviously Pepperdine was not a good fit for at least one poster.

WOW!! Getting attacked for posting my view. Why ask for people's opinions if you aren't able to accept it, or at least accept that people have differing views than yours?

Pepperdine seemed to be diverse when I made a campus visit a year ago. The class I sat in had a wide range of ethnicities.

My intention was not to attack. My intention was to say that generalizations are usually not accurate. You are correct Pepperdine and most small colleges are looking for a particular kind of student that will thrive in accordance with their particular mission. it is not for everyone. It would be the wrong fit for my son, but was a great fit for my D. It seems you were not happy there and you found a better fit for you, thats great and hope you are happy. No attack intended, but I will defend the good qualities of Pepperdine and try to be fair in my representation of the school.
