Im applying to University of Michigan this fall, and I have some questions about how I should apply. I can either do Early Action or Rolling Admissions. First of all, Im wondering what the difference is. I've googled it, but I'm not really learning anything. Does it matter when I apply with Early Action? I know that with rolling admissions I want to apply early, and it's not exactly "early" anymore, so if it doesn't matter when I apply with EA then that is a huge factor. And finally, which has a greater chance of acceptance? Thanks.

there is a deadline for early action, i think it varies with each school. one of the differences between early action and rolling admissions is that early action has a deadline. what early action means is that you submit your application at an earlier deadline and then learn if you’re accepted or not earlier than if you did regular decision. early action is also not binding so if you apply early action and get accepted that doesn’t mean you have to go to that school.

Rolling admissions means that the college looks through applications constantly throughout the months and let you know if you’re accepted or not a couple of weeks after your submitted your application. Most of the colleges that do rolling admissions are the really big ones because they don’t want to read through thousands and thousands of applications at one time.

I’m not sure about which has a greater chance of acceptance…early action, although there’s less applications submitted by that time, tend to be more competitive than regular decision. I have no idea about rolling admissions though

I could not find Rolling Admissions for Univ of Michigan. Early Action is Nov 1, regular admissions is Feb 1.

I stand corrected early action gives no advantage
