Anything you can tell me, from diversity to LGBTQ population to preppy, would be interesting. Thank you!
A lot of Preppy kids, but a little of everything. 33% of students are full pay (68K). Lots of ‘rah rah’ do everything/fun/join every club kind of students. Happy students.
The work hard-play hard mentality is pretty visible. I think that sums it up very well.
@teabiscuit I’m a current student (sophomore) and I totally agree with the above two people. The class, overall, is sizable enough to really accommodate almost all backgrounds and types, just maybe in different proportions then some other schools. Overall, though, the stereotypical BC student is preppy, in good shape, pretty enthusiastic about sports, and much smarter than you might think (given the pure aesthetic can lend to a dumb jock persona sometimes). Those are at least the impressions that I had come to see most frequently. Nearly everyone is incredibly nice. People smile and exchange pleasantries (like holding doors open for you) much more than I ever could’ve imagined. It’s hard to describe but is definitely something that becomes evident after even a few days on campus. Really it’s just a great group of people on the whole.
Let me know if you’d like me to elaborate but I hope this helped.
Can you tell me what the typical weekend is like there? Does the college sponsor parties things to do on a Friday or SAturday ? Do most students leave campus to find things to do?
@sandandsun I’ve personally never had an issue with things to do. There are football games in the fall, hockey games in the winter, and campus parties (mainly on lower campus at the mods, which are for seniors) all throughout. There are also student shows (a capella is fun every once in a while, as well as My Mother’s Fleabag, the student improv troup). Boston is always an option for things to do (i.e. Red Sox games or the New England Aquarium which both get special student pricing). If none of those, you can always hang out in your room and chill with floormates and throw on a movie or something.
