I went to this website http://finaid.utexas.edu/costs/060/ns.html and saw the cost of attendance. But it left out food and internet. So if you are instate please do tell me of your cost of attendance (just a brief rounded answer will do). I am not offered any fin aid since the adviser already said that the tution was low for our family income.

the meal plan is included in the cost for room and board. i dont know about internet, i think the cost is included???
your room and board may vary though. the cheapest dorms oncampus are $7100, but some of the newer dorms can be over $10000. also, some of the offcampus housing is different and i dont know about meal plans and food when living offcampus.

According to my FA package, it said the COA was around 21k.

Actually, food is included in the estimate on that website. Room/Board means housing and food. Room=housing, board=food and such. If you live on campus, then I believe that either internet is included or it's something really low, like less than $10/month. I don't know how much it is in off campus dorms, but if you live in an apartment and have to set it up yourself, it usually costs $35-$50 a month, although if you have roommates, you can get a router and split the cost.

COA is somewhere between $21,000 and $23,000 depending on where you want to live.

Tuition was $8k this year. My apartment is about $500/month with bills, so that's $6,000. I probably spend $300/month on food, so that's another $3500. I'd say all told, I spend about $20,000/year.

The good thing about UT is that it's not very academically rigorous, so you can definitely hold down a part time job to help w/ expenses (I have for the past 3 years). There are lots of opportunities for students to work on campus, and you don't have to be work study to get them.
