Typical Entry Level Positions for Computer Science College graduate

Hi there,
I just want to know your opinions
For a computer science major with a decent gpa (above 3.5) from a good school but not in the league of MIT, UC Berkley etc.

What kind of job positions are really feasible to get for such student?

What would you say are the top 5 industries that might attract such industries? ( I know IT positions cuts across virtually all industries but which are the best in terms of growth, pay, culture and worklife balance)

Apart from holding a "IT" position in some oil company or finance company etc Are there "real" computer science job positions available at the college level. Computer Science is not IT. I believe computer science majors are not actually trained to become IT professionals. Other programs like MIS and CIS do that but I guess over the years computer science majors have proven competent in that area.

Finally a range of the pay for any job positions you think satisfies these criteria will be highly appreciated.

I decided to post this here to get responses based on peoples experience and not same old custom stuff you here every where.

Thanks in advance
