Typical Freshman Schedule

<p>Hello! I'm applying to Stanford REA and am curious as to what a typical freshman schedule looks like. I hope to eventually major in human biology (pre-med). Thanks :)</p>

<p>There isn’t one. It completely depends on the person. Things to consider when formulating a schedule include indulging one’s interests, exploring new fields, and making sure that one has a reasonable (but not excessive) amount of work. The average freshman takes between 12 and 15 units per quarter, with the maximum typically being around 20. All freshmen fulfill Stanford’s core curriculum requirement by taking one of several classes (Thinking Matters, Structured Liberal Education, Education as Self-Fashion, SIMILE, ITALIC, etc.), and many take one or more introductory seminar. In addition to these, freshmen typically take at least one class relating to their intended major or an area in which they think they’re interested. </p>
