Typical Freshman Schedule

Hi, I was wondering what a typical freshman schedule is like at U of C.

For example,

what courses might you take each quarter

when would your classes start/end

Thanks!

HUMAN BEING AND CITIZEN-1 (12:00 P.M. to 1:20 P.M. - Tues, Thurs)
SCI/EARTH: ICE-AGE CLIMATE (11:30 A.M. to 12:20 P.M. - Mon, Wed, Fri)
SELF, CULTURE AND SOCIETY-1 (3:00 P.M. to 4:20 P.M. - Tues, Thurs)

That was my first quarter

Students take 3 or 4 classes per quarter.

Core classes are usually cut into 80 minute blocks twice a week (or sometimes 50 minute blocks three times a week). Some classes (bio, chem, physics, languages), have more class hours in lecture, labs, discussions, etc., but less out-of-class work, whereas core classes might not take up that much class time, but have more work attached to them.
