What is the typical schedule for a freshman in the Information and Computing Sciences Program?

That would depend a lot on what major you are considering, or if you are going to be doing the exploration program. “Information and Computing Sciences” is a college, not a specific major.

In terms of how the general schedule goes, expect 16-20 hours of class per week. In your first quarter you will probably take some kind of math class, whatever computer classes apply to your major, some liberal arts required classes (social sciences and humanities type classes) and also FYE, which is the a special freshmen seminar that everyone takes to help you adjust to college life.

I said ICS is a program, not the major but ty for the info, how similar are the liberal arts courses to high school courses would u say? Also I plan on going for computer science major. Any more info? :D

If you aren’t coming in with any credits that put you ahead, take a look here for what your schedule will look like quarter-by-quarter. [Undergraduate Curriculum | Computer Science](http://www.cs.rit.edu/programs/ugrad/curriculum)
You don’t have to follow it exactly but you will be encouraged to at least for your first year.

As far as liberal arts classes, I suppose they aren’t too different from high school classes. You basically learn about whatever subject the class is on, maybe write some essays. There isn’t generally very many small homework assignments. It varies greatly from professor to professor.

ty for the reply very helpful ^^
