Non-CA resident

Yea... I feel bad though cuz I just applied as a back, back, backup. I hope I didn't take anyone's spot for that. (UCSD was my first choice).
GPA: 3.3 W/ SAT: CR-630 Math-690 Writing-650

I think sdsu is a match for you, not a safety
average ucsd gpa is around 4.0

I'm just speaking in terms of my own opinion... a safety isn't always a safety because of academics... in my case it's a safety becuase of it's far away location (as in if i got rejected by every school within 2 hours i would go for 3 hours away SDSU. Also, i'm quite aware of the beautful UCSD GPA (note: UCSD WAS my first choice). Thanks for your help surfer.

for transfer students from CCC that got accepted to SDSU, what was your GPA??

what is the minimum eligibility cutoff for this upcoming fall 2006 year? does anyone know?

Hey Rayver,

Got in with a 2.9

critical reading 590, math 590
uc gpa was around 3.3
7 ap classes by graduation, euro, us, music theory, gov & econ, environment, english

im a little scared about sending the final transcript in though. i had pretty much Bs first semester, except a C in precalc. if i slip down to a D in precalc (hopefully worst case scenario) do you think theyd withdraw offer of admission? this is w/ all other classes being C or above. let me know, what do you guys think?

congrats to everyone who got in!

ya i dont know about that, i got a c in precal too, i had slightly better number but dont get a d whatever you do
call them and ask them....whos applying for the honors program, the app is due in 2 dasy

I got in today!!!

i FINALLY got in.. phewww
i was a bit confused at first
at my status page all the text were kinda messed up, it kept on repeating my file was being reviewed and my major was business blah blah blah like 4 times
i didnt see anything and had to scrolled all the way down until i saw
"Intent to Enroll" that was the magic moment :D

well here are my stats
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
GPA 3.4
SAT 1240/1600 1810/2400
don't think they looked at anything else.. i had to sent my midyear transcript though.

i applied to 7 or 8 CSU schools and got accepted by all of them which i was surprised. my GPA isnt that great around 2.5 overall. what are the chances that i could get into SDSU since i got into those other schools. also got accepted by CSULB today. is SDSU admission standards that much higher than Long Beach? by the way, i applied to SDSU before and got accepted out of HS several yrs ago but that was when their admission standards were not as high. would that make a difference at all if i apply again?

I got rejected from SDSU (checked just now)

"Thank you for applying to San Diego State University. After carefully reviewing your application, we are unable to offer you admission for the fall 2006 semester. SDSU admission decisions are highly competitive. This year, SDSU received more than 52,000 applications for 8822 enrollment spaces. Our admission decisions were based on the information you provided on your application and were made with great care."

and it was my match/safety school (or so I thought...)

I am so emo right now =*(

well in my opinion SDSU is one of the hardest state schools to get into,if not the hardest...their standards for admission now are a lot higher then they used to be a few years back seeing that the school is way over crowded.

dreamingofdreams what were your stats?

this is the first rejection i've heard.. i guess it starts coming out now

so it seems Cal Poly SLO is rated the best CSU, how would u rank the others after it? would SDSU be 2nd? and then Long Beach, Pomona, or CHico after that?

this is from princeton review:
Freshman Admission Statistics
Total applicants who are accepted: 44%
Total of accepted students who enroll: 25%

"This year, SDSU received more than 52,000 applications for 8822 enrollment spaces."

so 8822/52000 = thats only like 17% accepted rate!
the previous rate was 44%.. and this year its 17%?! wow..

They accept more than they think will enroll. According to the stat you posted, only 25% of those accepted enroll.

No. They ACCEPT 44 %, but 25% of those ACCEPTED go. So, if there are 8822 spots, they'll accept about 23,000.

Is the 52,000 really just undergraduate, or is that number a combination of undergraduate and graduate applicants?
