What would you say the typical Umass student is like? If there is such a thing.

i think umass is so big that doesn't even exist. princeton review student review says 'types' of people can be classified by where they live on campus...
ive heard there are definately cliques there but it's too big to define a 'typical' student.

I agree. UMass is large enough that you'll find almost every type of student there. There are people of almost every ethnicity, religion, and interest. There are goths, there are artists, there are hippys, there are Young Republicans, there are evangelical Christians, there are Muslims. There are rockers, there are theatre types, there are druggies, there are people who never drink. It's a mid-to-large sized public university, so there are really lots of types of people there. I couldn't give you a "typical student".

Typical Umass Student is white. There are a ton of jocks. There is diversity, but the school is 78% Caucasian. Look it up on collegeboard.com

Honestly, there is no "typical" Umass student since there are so many students. However, depending on where one dorms, the stereotypes differ. For instance, people who dorm in Southwest are considered "Party-ers, drunks, drop-outs,etc..." but someone who dorms in Central is considered a "pot-head, crack-addict, jocks,etc..."
