Typos in common app activities list

I found a couple typos in my activities descriptions after I submitted my application. It is the only part that I didn’t check carefully. Is it really a big deal? What should I do to make it up?

I don’t think it’s worth calling/emailing admissions to correct it. A few minor typos are not going to make the difference between acceptance/rejection.

Do you think it would help if I mail my resume that includes a annotated activities list?

@Plshelpme2016 If colleges did not ask for a resume or additional materials, don’t send them one. The information you provided on the common app should be sufficient enough. If they have more questions, they will email/call you or your guidance counselor.

I applied for Cornell. It says on common app that I can upload a resume, but I didn’t think it was necessary before. Can I send it one now? So they might “forgive” me for the mistakes.

Cornell might wonder why you didn’t just include it originally with your common app. In that case, I would email a PDF of it to admissions and just say your forgot to upload it. However, unless it has information about new activities not listed on your application, it’s unnecessary.

OK. Thank u so much for replying!

Don’t worry too much. My son made 2 minor typos on a supplemental essay, realized it, and sent a clean copy to his regional rep. He said he realized there were typos and asked if she would please accept this copy for his file. He got in. Typos aren’t good, but it can still work out just fine. I think uploading your resume would be acceptable.Good luck!

Thanks for replying, I’m adding new activities that I didn’t list on the common app on my resume. Should I honestly mention the typos in my application? Or just says i have more information that I want to add?

In your case, I would not mention the typos.

Thanks.

I accidently put down “Phototography Club” and “Library Committe” on my application. I wish I had caught it when I was proofreading but if your typos are fairly minor like mine are, I think you’ll be okay. Good luck!
