Yesterday afternoon, Tyra was just walking around on Harvard campus (no body guards or anything) and she even dropped in on the Association of Black Harvard Women's Black Koffee event that we were holding for the pre-frosh. What an amazing coincidence!! LOL I wonder if her appearance convinced anyone to choose Harvard over some place else ....

lol give me a break. Seeing Tyra walking around campus is even more boring than watching those little Harvard squirrels jump around campus (No offense Tyra but your talkshow s***). Halle Berry on the other side. Now were talking.

Was she researching something for her talk show? Given the current media attention surrouding racial interaction at Duke, I wonder if she's trying to scope out other top schools and trying to check out whether or not there's racial tension.

haha yeah my friend saw her at the boston airport

Well yeah, Halle Berry was just here a few months ago ... anyways, she was in Boston to see a play I think. Not sure why exactly she was on Harvard's campus though.

Halle Berry was on campus because she was receiving her Woman of the Year award given by Hasty Pudding Theatricals.

Oh yeah, I should've been clearer. I meant TYRA was in Boston for a play, and I dunno why she was at Harvard exactly. Yeah, Halle Berry was here for the Hasty Pudding thing - I even went to see her in the parade!

That's awesome, I would have loved to see her!

Yea, i agree Tyra Banks is after attention and her show america's next top model was terrible.....Queen Latifa is real so is Halle Berry

y would anyone actually want to visit harvard?

geez 400metres...i dont know....maybe people are interested/curious to see what the best university in the US (and perhaps world) looks like.....

...just my guess...

tyra banks is so d-list

yeah, d-list ... with a highly successful career as a supermodel, a new talkshow, and one of the most popular reality TV shows to her name ... :-

All the times I have ever been to Harvard it has been on business, and in all cases the business was interpreting for a foreign national who either

a) wanted to meet an eminent expert in some subject, who happened to be a Harvard professor,

or

b) wanted to see one of the top universities in the United States, during a trip that included stops at other colleges besides Harvard.

To sum up, people want to visit Harvard because it's Harvard. I was along to help the person making the visit communicate with English-speaking people. What I found, given those opportunities to visit Harvard, were PHENOMENAL art museums (one of the persons I interpreted for was a visual artist). The Boston Museum of Fine Arts is a very fine museum, but Harvard has a great museum system. Harvard's collection of Shang dynasty bronzes is unmatched outside east Asia, I'm pretty sure.

I am not a "member" of Harvard, so I have never been inside any of the Harvard libraries. But the Harvard libraries online catalog makes clear that Harvard has library holdings second only to the Library of Congress in the United States. That's pretty impressive; I'd love to visit the libraries sometime.

Harvard Square is a pleasant tourist destination too, even if you don't care for campus of the school proper. Cambridge and Boston in general are cities very worthy of a visit.

I don't think the libraries are open to anyone except students and faculty. There is a sign when entering Widener in about 15 languages stating this but I'm sure if you are with another professor or maybe a student they might let you in.

what chewy3 said is true.

and when you're an alum(na) you need special permission to get access to the libraries, and it's still only partial access.

seems a little crazy if you ask me!

yeah thats why yale is tons better

hahah i was being sarcastic about the d-list joke... sorry it's hard to tell on the internet

I wouldn't care if Tyra Banks dropped by any campus...

I'd rather have some math/science guy come

HOLY lord, I so woulda been like "yo can i have a signature, I love your america's top model work"

Haha, I guess you guys meet a lot of superstars . . . well I've never personally met anyone from Hollywood =

If I really got that signature and called the kids back home, I'm pretty sure no one would believe me.
