Tyra Banks fakes a Harvard diploma

The Harvard Crimson published an article today outlining how Tyra Banks continues to mislead the public with misrepresentations of her business school 9-week executive program in which she earned a certificate, not any bonafide degree from Harvard College, nor an MBA from HBS.

Tyra Banks: Dropping H-Bombs Like Nobody's Business | Flyby | The Harvard Crimson

Poor Tyra - I wonder if she realizes she didn’t really graduate from Harvard

People are jealous because Tyra graduated from Harvard for business in only 9 weeks while your average business student takes like 2-3.

Tastes like sour grapes here.

2-3 what?? Can they sail through in 2-3 weeks, or heavens, might it take them 2-3 mos. Surely you can’t mean it might take them 2-3 years?? Oh my.

Maybe Tyra’s degree is the real one and Fauve’s is fake. Ever thought of that?

Don’t be upset. Instead, just enjoy the relativism.

So, maybe Harvard should stop being such a diploma mill?

But I will say - if I enrolled in the business owner/manager course that Tyra attended, I think it would be very interesting to hear her perspective on building her brand.

Doesn’t Harvard include those 6- 8 week Exec MBA’s by “class” in alumni listings in the Harvard magazine? I see how she could be confused.

Back when she was attending the course, CBS Sunday Morning news show did a puff piece on Tyra, and she (and hence the piece) really played up the Harvard angle. She clearly considers attending there as part of her building her brand. She said she chose Harvard because it was the top, the best. And that’s what she considered herself and her company to be, so nothing else would do.

She also expressed dismay at how difficult the material was and how hard she had to study. She made it clear she was doing the work and was determined to succeed, but I guess going in she had not expected it to be so difficult.
