I'm going to be going into mechanical engineering. At this point, most of the finer, intangible details are a wash until I can fully decide what type of environment I want. I am out of state but have full rides to both, so money isn't part of the decision.

What it boils down to is that Delaware is supposedly ranked higher (51 vs 101, for grad school anyways), and simply based on my visits, Delaware seems like a more robust program. However, Alabama has a beautiful suite style single room dorm (vs double occupancy for Delaware and every other school I've visited). I know that some of you might think it's dumb for me to decide based on the dorm, but I AM going to spend the majority of my time there. For people like me, it is extremely beneficial to be able to sleep whenever I need, always be guaranteed a quiet place to study, and simply enjoy hours of personal time.

I've heard many times that undergrad engineering is really all the same, but I wonder if Delaware's location, possibly superior connections, and higher ranking will open up more job opportunities out of college. Is the difference actually worth sacrificing incredible living arrangements?
