Looking to major in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Which school would better secure me internships and opportunities for after graduation?
I’m from NYC, so Buffalo is about 8 hours away while Albany is about 5 hours away. Distance doesn’t exactly matter, I guess.
Buffalo offered me work-study while Albany didn’t, meaning I’d have to look for a part time job.
Overall Buffalo is coming out to cost a little more than Albany (about +$2,000-$3,000). But does this matter in the long run? Like if I can get a better education at Buffalo, I’m willing to break my back to do so. But, if it’s about the same in terms of educational quality, job/earning potiential, student life, then I’d rather go to the cheaper one.
My daughter from So. Cal. looked at both schools and picked Buffalo. She loved it there! (She lived in Red Jacket, initially). She’s a software EE working here at home and is rising into management. She really was given a lot of experience in interning in Buffalo. Ask questions about your intern possibilities at both schools. If you like UB, go to UB.
Buffalo is a good school, and I think you can feel comfortable with your decision, should you decide on Buffalo. I know a couple of kids there and they are all very happy with the school. One is an engineering major, one education and the other business.
That being said, there is nothing wrong with Albany.
Buffalo is better academically, especially for science, but Albany’s the university center for business.
Did you get into the HOnors College at either?
