-I have written numerous informal prose, specifically one journal over the summer that was over 200 pages of political, social,personal, and religious ideas and philosophy
-I love golf course architecture and nature
-Writing(especially timed writing)
-Philosophical discussion and thought</p>

<p>Letters of Rec:
-One from Tom Doak, quite possibly one of the worlds most prolific and notable golf course architects
-Another from my AP English teacher who knows me very well and will expand on my writing ability
-I alos have an extremely good relationship with my high school counselor and she should give me an excellent evaluation
-Science rec should be good as well</p>

Impossible to prove but assume that they will be unique and memorable</p>

<p>I think you have a decent chance at U chicago if you bring up the SATs.</p>

<p>I'd definetely say you have a shot in...uchic is very competitive but dont worry so much =/ I disagree strongly with the other posters here, sure you should retake the SATS but among other schools in its league uchic pays very little attention to SAT scores in comparrison.</p>

<p>GPA/EC's are fine, testing scores lack only slightly but shouldn't offset your chances horribly.</p>

<p>Grades are excellent... you could retake the SAT, but you might also want to consider taking the ACT. Illinoisans love that test for some reason.</p>

<p>U-Chicago is the sort where a really excellent writer can actually convince the admissions staff, so that might be the place to focus most of your energy. Those 200 pages of unfiltered prose? Filter them into something less diffuse and put them in that "unique and memorable" essay/essays of yours.</p>
